Method and Activities
eAccess+ provides a co-ordinating and mediating role for eAccessibility. For each of the above domains the network will:
- Consult with all relevant stakeholders such as end users, designers, technicians, key personnel in industry, policy makers, service providers and researchers in the value chain on the accessibility issues with which they are most concerned
- Analyse the range of issues raised by stakeholders and select a small number of key issues to work on in sprints (e.g. in the web accessibility domain this might be working on accessibility statements for websites – providing support on appropriate formats, testing that is required etc); a further aspect of this activity will be to establish how to monitor progress that stakeholders make in addressing these key issues with the support the network offers them
- Support relevant stakeholders in working on the key issues; this might involve providing examples of best practice, guidelines etc
- Disseminate the experiences and new knowledge developed in sprints or waves to additional countries but also other organisations already involved – this would be to the next wave, but may also be to standards/guidelines organisations
- Develop a roadmap for the future development of eAccessibility
eAccess+ will follow this basic structure through three “waves” of activities intending a step by step increase in the number of countries (5 countries in the first wave, 10 countries in the second wave and 15 countries in the third wave) involved.
