Accessible Convergent Communications
The Accessible Convergent Communications Area will examine human-centered design methodologies and human-computer interaction techniques in two main areas
- Accessible Communication: mobile platforms, grid/cloud computing, satellite, middleware, wireless and mobile multimedia systems, embedded systems, interfaces, inclusive service delivery.
- Design for digital convergence: modelling, multimedia authoring, interfaces, frameworks, design, and practice.
and several application domains:
- Service delivery via mobile platforms
- Grid/cloud computing infrastructures and services
- GNSS Satellite
- Operating systems and middleware support for multimedia
- Wireless and mobile multimedia systems
- Embedded systems
- Immersive interfaces and augmented-reality systems
- Internet of Things
- Economic benefits of inclusive service delivery
- Setting up the eAccessibility HUB for accessible digital audio-visual systems and accessible convergent communication
- Setting up the eAccessibility HUB for accessible digital audio-visual systems and accessible convergent communication
- Consultation with stakeholders to identify key gaps in interoperability and paths towards phased solutions, identifying cost-benefit factors hindering development of inclusive IDTV and TC and production of a roadmap considering issues relating to convergence, for example crossover activities and convergence between IDTV and WebTV.
